PRP treatment is applied to restore menstrual cycle and folliculogenesis in menopausal and perimenopausal (in the pre-climactic period) women.
PRP treatment (autologous platelet-rich plasma) is the treatment with own blood plasma enriched with platelets – blood cells containing many alpha-granules with a large number of growth factors. Growth factors play a key role in tissue regeneration, activate cell growth and their renewal. When high concentrated platelet-derived factors are injected into the damaged or atrophied tissues, tissues healing and regeneration processes are activated. Platelet-rich plasma growth factors are considered to stimulate follicles ovulation in the ovaries.
This innovation technique can help women of advanced maternal age or with ovarian failure syndrome. However, it should be understood that PRP-therapy is not the assisted reproduction method, it is a technique for menstrual cycle and folliculogenesis restoration in the specific cases.
PRP treatment is carried out in several stages. First, 8-20 ml of peripheral blood is taken from the patient. Then, this blood is placed in a centrifuge and centrifuged - divided into components. Red blood cells and leukocytes are removed from the blood, leaving platelets. The platelets are then concentrated. This technique allows to obtain platelet-rich plasma, in which the platelet concentration is 3-5 times higher than in peripheral blood.
No side effects of PRP therapy have been found. Since the patient's own blood is used for the injection, any allergic reactions are excluded and full biocompatibility is ensured.
The application of PRP-injections can work differently for different women. Therefore, it is difficult to say how many eggs can be obtained after PRP-therapy: it depends on the condition of the woman's reproductive system before the procedure, and also on the reaction to PRP-therapy. In any case, even spontaneous ovulation and the production of single eggs in menopausal and perimenopausal women, when the ovaries are already practically atrophied, is a breakthrough in reproductive technologies that could potentially give a chance for pregnancy with own eggs.
This method has been applied since 2015 and has already been tested on more than 700 women; announced at three international congresses, showed good results and condition improvement.

The purpose of the PRP treatment is to activate spermatogenesis (sperm production) in the testicles, which is not active enough, that’s why sperm quality is reduced and pregnancy in the partner does not appear.
This PRP procedure is innovative and, due to its recent appearance is still experimental. However, it is known that PRP treatment is able to stimulate and repair cells, and PRP injections are successfully used in cases of many diseases, such as arthritis and arthrosis (when PRP is injected into the joints), in cases of hair loss, female infertility (PRP injections in ovaries or endometrium), etc. Besides, according to currently available data, it succeeds in about 50% of cases, to the extent that sperm can be obtained during testicular biopsy for medical fertilization.
